African painted dogs, aka African wild dogs or African painted wolves, stand out as one of the most efficient predators in the animal kingdom. Before the hunt even begins, they carefully select their target, usually choosing the young, old, injured, or in this case - pregnant, to maximize success.

Instead of relying on speed, they count on stamina, engaging in long-distance chases to exhaust their prey. Teamwork is key; the pack takes turns leading the pursuit, effectively keeping the group fresh while tiring out their target.

As the prey weakens, the pack closes in from multiple angles, adding confusion to exhaustion. Once the prey is down, they begin eating almost immediately—often while it's still alive. This is a necessity. ©All rights are reserved & belong to their respective owners.
